Photography Training & Camera Setup Coaching
Photography is most rewarding when your equipment feels like an extension of your vision — not something you’re fighting against. Our 1:1 training sessions are designed to give you clarity, confidence and control over your camera, focusing system and shooting technique, tailored directly to your individual goals and photographic style.
With over 35 years of photographic experience and more than 15 years delivering structured training — including serving as Photographic Training Manager for one of the UK’s leading photographic retailers — our approach combines deep technical understanding with a calm, patient and supportive teaching style.
Complex settings and focusing behaviours are explained clearly and simply, without jargon or overload — ensuring your learning is practical, memorable and confidence‑building.
Why Choose 1:1 Training?
Every photographer learns differently. Online tutorials or group workshops rarely address your specific camera, shooting style or challenges.
Our training is:
- Personalised to your skill level and goals
- Practical and hands‑on from the start
- Structured to build skill, confidence and clarity
- Genre‑focused — wildlife, portrait, sport, macro, landscape and more
We help you:
- Understand how your camera behaves in real situations
- Choose correct AF modes and drive settings
- Produce sharp, consistent images reliably
- Build confidence in your decisions — not guesswork
Instruction is always clear, calm, supportive and jargon‑free.
Before Your Session – Tailored to You
To ensure your training is genuinely bespoke, we carry out a short pre‑session briefing by phone or email. This allows us to understand your experience, goals, genres of interest and equipment. Your session is then designed specifically around you — no generic instruction, no unnecessary filler — just focused and relevant guidance.
Where Training Takes Place
We typically welcome clients to one of our selected training locations in West Sussex.
This is intentional:
- It removes home distractions
- Creates a purposeful learning mindset
- Provides environments suitable for practical shooting
On‑location or home‑based training can be arranged if preferred. Additional travel costs apply.
